Who are we?
We are an active community of more than 800 intergenerational members gathered to support each other on our Christian spiritual journeys. Congregational churches trace their origins to the Pilgrims and Puritans of the Massachusetts Bay colonies. So today we are modern pilgrims searching for meaningful Christian experience.

We are a church of covenant. To join the church, one does not agree with any doctrinal statement, but “owns” our covenant:

As followers of Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves to share in the worship and service of God, to grow in the knowledge and expression of our faith, to reach out with compassion to those in need, to treat each other with love and understanding, and to return to God a portion of God's gifts.

The purpose of our church further defines us: The purpose of this Church shall be to bind together followers of Jesus Christ for the object of sharing in the worship of God and in making God's will dominant in the lives of people especially as that will is set forth in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ

We are a church in the free church tradition which means that our congregation governs itself democratically. As descendents of the Puritans, we understand the locally gathered church as the church complete, needing no ecclesiastical structures to worship God. We call our ministers and govern our own affairs, in relationship with other churches of the Congregational Way. Our democratic structure is defined in our constitution and bylaws:
